If you’re looking for a spot to bring your new date to, or just looking to make your brunch dates more interesting, seek no further. I’m certain that Noshery will blow anyone away with its beautiful and quaint interior. Upon stepping into the café, I felt as though I was transported to another country, of another era. The wallpaper of lush-green tropical banana trees was extremely captivating, and you can be sure it’ll make a nice background for all your photos!
Everything screams vintage and class.
The long wooden planks across the ceiling completed the whole look, don’t you think? Nestled within Rochester Park, this is certainly a hidden gem.
Pancakes w Fresh Berries, Maple, Vanilla Cream ($14) – Nowadays, when it’s all about chasing the latest food fad (think rainbow everything), I must say that the classics and mainstays can be forgotten easily. This is a plate of fuss-free, simple pancakes – nothing stuffed within, no surprises. Yet, it is does feel comforting and familiar. 🙂
Poached Eggs, Crab Cakes, Coconut Curry Hollandaise, Roast Potatoes, Salad ($20) – The poached eggs were cooked to perfection and the yolk oozing out casually upon the first cut. I really like those crab cakes, packed with lots of crustacean goodness. That said, I could not tell the difference between a normal hollandaise and this rendition of coconut curry.Great roast potatoes there. I’d say another classic, with a twist.
Salmon w Coconut Rice, Vietnamese Caramel ($24) – Things can a little more unpredictable with this dish! Rarely do you see rice being served in a café, much less coconut rice, or nasi lemak rice. Happy to say that the rice was very lemak and the long grains had a nice bite to them. Salmon was fresh but pretty run-of-the-mill in terms of taste. This interesting combination does win extra brownie points from me though.
Slow-pressed Fresh Juice ($6) – On hot days, this will be your life-saver.
Am very proud of this photo!
Minimal make-up but I couldn’t resist a shot with the beautiful wallpaper. Moreover, I’m pretty dressed for the theme?
Noshery definitely stood out for its decor and the whole dining experience it provides. Food-wise, nothing fancy but very hearty. As they don’t take reservations, do head down early to beat the crowd!
