Hotel Review: Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok

Well, the Shangri-La brand needs no further introduction. Thus, this is just a quick photo view of the hotel’s vicinity and of course, breakfast buffet. My entire stay here at Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok was nothing short of perfection. It’s very near the Silom MTR station and you can take the sheltered link through Shangri-La Residences, which is just opposite the station. Just outside of the hotel, you can find a street of massage parlours – most of which did a really good job in foot massage.

The lobby incorporated with luxe finishes in Thai-style.

Check-in desk.

Some of the beautiful lotuses greeting you when you enter the hotel.

The bed was huge – almost a double queen. Loved how they had so many pillows to hug! You’ll be treated to a good night’s sleep every day in this bed!

View of the *inserts long name* river.

The room was rather spacious too, with adequate walkway space.

The roomy bathroom!

Bathtub included!

Swimming that exuded a resort feel to it.

Lifeguard on duty!

The restaurant for breakfast is always brimmed with guests but somehow, the food got topped up quickly and service was efficient.

Al-fresco area by the river.

Cold starters.

Multi-tasking at its best!

The honey-glazed ham tasted wonderful and the hashbrown crispy and fragrant. This is definitely one of the perks of a five-star hotel – its sumptuous buffet breakfast!

French toast.

Dimsum.

Sushi.

Homemade soy bean milk!

Pots of cooked dishes – Chinese & Indian cuisine.

There was a separate counter of fresh bakes and all the pastries looked so enticing, it was a heaven for pastry-lovers.

Waffles running low!

All the ice cream here were homemade and the flavours were really impressive I would say. Yep, ice cream for breakfast!

Thai fruits are always the sweetest, so remember to stock up on them!

Fresh honeycomb!

My favourite? Guava juice!

Cocoa-stamped coffee.

I had no problems waking up early in the morning to head for breakfast! Living up to its brand reputation, there is not a single fault I found during my stay here. What’s more, there is a direct (and free) hotel boat taking you to Asiatique!
