If you happen to be afraid of cats like myself, this is a reassurance that there’re no live furry animals in this café. On the other hand, if you’re cat lover, don’t go away just yet, ‘cos this is one café that is worth a visit. The inviting storefront stands out amongst the endless options at Samcheongdong, thanks to its vibrant colouts and outstanding chalkboards. Of course, I was digging those rustic metal/glass frames too.
When you enter, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a quaint wooden hut. The space was rather small, with seating space on only one side, accommodating at most 30 people.
On the opposite side of the seating space was a beautiful wall nailed with shelves full of cat ornaments, CDs and potted plants. It felt very homely and cosy, and trust me, this background made the perfect backdrop for your selfies!
Can’t help but share some of the pretty shots by the BFF!
Ice Cream Waffle Set with 2 Drinks of Any Choice [21,000won/$25.60]
Ice Cream Waffle – The waffle was awesome – golden brown, buttery, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The scoops of ice cream were Vanilla and Chocolate from Häagen-Dazs, which in my opinion is one of the best ice cream brands in the world. Absolutely faultless, though I think strawberries would make a better choice than kiwis!
A wide selection of drinks was offered and we were thoroughly spoilt for choice!
Front: Ice Earl Grey Latte – The strong earl grey taste was not too overwhelming and the drink worked as well as the usual green tea latte!
Back: Iced Kahlua Choco Latte – I loved this drink – easily the best one of the trip! The kahlua (coffee liqueur, also used in tiramisu) added a really satisfying kick, and who knew that the combination of chocolate and coffee would work so well in a drink! The milk foam at the brim was the icing on the cake.
The entire experience at this café was nothing short of amazing – I could take a whole day out to just chill here. The prices may be steeper than other cafés in Seoul but as you know, experience is always priceless.
