Staycation: Westin Hotel, Singapore

The Westin has reopened in Singapore last November after more than a decade and I was here just 5 days after their official opening (yes, this is just one of my many backdated posts). I was really glad that there were no teething problems and my stay was more than enjoyable, looking at how new and modern the room and amenities were! A 5-Star hotel, The Westin has 305 rooms and occupies a number of floors in Asia Square Tower 2, sharing the vicinity with offices, which of course has a separate lobby and not accessible from the hotel. You’ll be happy to know that all the rooms are all above 37th floor!

Ground floor lobby with a day cafe. Check-in and reception counter is in fact on the 32nd floor and staff will be on the ground to usher you.

Spot the lift button!

Lobby area with plush armchairs! Behind this is their Lobby Lounge, where I had their high tea at!

The ROOM! As you can see the windows were narrow but the room was really spacious! The use of dark mahogany, dark day-curtains and black marble tops made the entire room chic and laid-back. The comfort provided by the bed was top-notch and the long pillows were soft yet supported my neck really well.

A small foyer at the front of the door and wardrobe to create a separation of spaces. I like this idea!

The headboard extends to the ceiling and across – delivering a sense of grandeur.

An inviting study area that is worth spending time at.

I was glad that the iPhone dock was compatible for 5S! 😛

Usual bar items.

On the the bathroom!

The bathroom had a great and unblocked  view of the sea!

Basically, the bathroom is right behind the bed, spanning the entire area across spaciously.

2 sinks and a huge mirror.

Basic toiletries were provided.

There was even an ottoman on wheels that you can put your clothes on! Useful as a ‘side table’ while soaking in the bathtub too!

Swimming pool – looks like it extends out into the sea!

Huge area to lounge at – considering its awesome view, being outdoors is a wise choice.

A bar area by the pool, which should be running by now.

Gym with a view – how’s that for some motivation? Also, Westin provides you with New Balance clothing and shoes for you to keep up with your fitness routine at only $6 during your stay!

Breakfast the next morning was at Seasonal Tastes.

Again, you get to enjoy a panoramic view during brekkie time.

Live egg station.

Chinese & Indian station.

Juice station.

Pastries section.

They had a yoghurt station with various types of yoghurts, as well as toppings. I had Greek yoghurt with honey and raspberry sauce. So good that I had a second serving!

The glutinous rice in lotus leaf was some seriously good stuff!

A delightful combination.

Tasty porridge!

Coffee & tea. Throughout my meal, the service staff was very attentive and she even offered to change a new cup of cappuccino for my mum after it turned cold. This is what I call a 5-Star hotel service.

If you’re planning to have a staycation, The Westin will be one that I’d highly recommend. Firstly, all the facilities are new and secondly, rest assured that you’ll be well taken care of. In fact, I recognized some of the frontdesk staff from Ritz-Carlton Hotel previously! Well, this only comes to show that despite being a new hotel, The Westin is in good hands with well-trained and experienced staff on the floor.

A weekend night is priced at $447.84, based on my stay last November.
