Hotel Review: Crowne Plaza Hotel, St. Petersburg

This marks the first of the upcoming sporadic hotel reviews that I will be blogging about. Where’s the food you may ask. Well, right down below, I’ll be sharing with you the hotel’s breakfast buffet! Isn’t hotel breakfast a highlight of your stay that could very well make or break your impression? Over here at Foodiepink, I’ll be providing a holistic overview of both the room and the breakfast.

In view of my final installment on Russia’s restaurants last week, I’ll be introducing the hotel I called home for 5 nights in St. Petersburg – Crowne Plaza Hotel. The hotel is located in the centre of St. Petersburg, conveniently situated opposite the Moscow Train Station – an essential transportation mode to travel to different cities in Russia. Just next to the train station is a new mega-mall called Galleria. A short walk down leads to the main road in St Petersburg, called the Nevsky Prospect, where you can find an endless choice of eateries, restaurants and shops. Hence location-wise, Crowne Plaza Hotel definitely scores high.

A modern lobby which doubled up as lounge area at night.

Signature Russian dolls for sale for some last-minute purchases!

A minimalist, fuss-free and cosy room! Though the room was rather small, there was more than enough space to maneuver and most importantly, the beds were clean and comfy!

Basic essentials that the room was equipped with.

There was a standing shower in the bathroom and all toiletries were provided.

Breakfast Area – It was a charming interior to me, with its European-influenced design.

The beverage area was well-stocked with freshly cut lemons and a neat curation of tea selections.

Live egg station – you can either have your eggs fried, scrambled or omelette-style. The omelette was yummy with its oozing cheese!

Cold Section – A number of cheeses and yoghurts.

Cold cuts and smoked salmon.

French Toast.

Grilled tomatoes & baked beans.

An obscene amount of bacon!

Lots of pastries for you to choose from!

Fruits and cereals.

I have to say that the spread for breakfast was rather impressive, though monotonous. The quality of food was definitely good and you’ll be assured that the fuel you get from breakfast will last you till midday. My stay at Crowne Plaza Hotel was a great one as housekeeping services were efficient (eg. requests for more toiletries/bottles of water) and I really loved the cleanliness and newness of the hotel.
