Lady M Confections @ Marina Square

Hailing from The Big Apple is the highly-acclaimed confectionary Lady M, which has been featured in countless magazines, including the Oprah Magazine! Lady M prides itself in using ingredients of the highest quality to create these fine cakes, served at New York City’s top restaurants. It has landed on the shores of Singapore for the very first time at Marina Square’s new Dining Edition a few weeks back, as the chain’s 5th store. Being a huge fan of Mille Crepes, I couldn’t wait to get a taste of this signature cake of Lady M’s!

White furnitures to fit the “white” theme.

Minimalist cake counter of white wood panels and high glass partitions.

Cakes and tarts are sparsely placed on the long counter.

Whole cakes and tarts cut up upon order.

Lady M Signature Mille Crêpes Cake ($7.50) – The first mouthful was simply out-of-the-world. On the top layer of the crêpe cake was some caramelised sugar which injected a nice, toasted flavour to it. Featuring more than twenty layers of paper-thin crêpes, it was indeed a dessert that requires lots of effort and time. The magic ingredient that stood this apart from all the other crêpe cakes in the market is the very delicious cream, which I thought had some percentage of alcohol due to its distinct taste, though my friend said otherwise. All in all, this has become my favourite crépe cake of all time!

Strawberry Shortcake ($7.50) – After having both this and the Mille Crêpes, I really couldn’t decide which tasted better as both were just as excellent. I’ve had my fair share of strawberry shortcakes (my usual order) and this may probably be the best I’ve tasted as well. The sponge, made from superfine flour imported from Japan, and even the cream, were extremely light and fluffy. When the fork sinks into the cake, it took minimal effort to do so. The cake literally melts in your mouth. Unlike how strawberries are just added for the formality of it, the cream here had an aromatic flavour of the fruit and the fresh, juicy bits simply added more texture and served as a testament that no artificial flavours were used.

Chamomile Tea ($4) – A great tea to wash down the sugar and helps you sleep better after such satisfying desserts! I love the generous honey on the side.

I am overjoyed that Lady M is here to stay and I can have it any time my craving kicks in. No doubt, it lives up to its hype and reputation and desserts lovers, you have no idea what you’re missing out on if you haven’t tried Lady M! Their Mille Crêpes Cake do get sold out pretty quickly so don’t drop by too late! P.S.: I know where to get my birthday cake from this year! 😀

Hey babe! I’ve tried it during my 2nd visit to Lady M but I thought it wasn’t anything extraordinary… though visually appealing for sure! I still stand by my Strawberry Shortcake! 😛
