Fullerton Bay Hotel definitely holds a special place in my heart. I love every single thing about this hotel, from its floor/wall tilings to its signature scent. The entire hotel exudes elegance and grandeur. The Landing Point proves to be a good spot for people-watching as many are dressed to the nines. If you’re looking for a day of pampering, this will be my top pick – at $48++ per head!
Plush sofas and armchairs with fluffy down cushions fit for royalty.
There is a lower level where the bar table is at, with tables facing the waterfront view. If you want to have a front-seat view of people sailing in the reservoir, you can reserve a table there!
I initially thought it was ketchup and mayo in the saucer but it turned out to be clotted cream and jam to go with the scones! 😛
The Landing Point serves an extensive selection of TWG teas, coffees and other beverages, with special house blends for both tea and coffee. You can order as many tea/coffee as you can stomach! I had my favourite Silvermoon Tea, a very light, fragant green tea, as well as the exclusive Fullerton Express Tea which is definitely worth a try!
A 3-tier high tea set for 2! One thing you’ll be glad to know is that all items are refillable! Extra servings will be prepared in the kitchen and service crew will go round tables asking if you want additional items.
Savoury Items: Truffled Egg Sandwich, Lobster Mini Cone, Cucumber Sandwich, Smoked Salmon w Caviar Sandwich, Aged Cheese w Cracker, Ham Bagel, Smoked Salmon Quiche & Tuna Crepe Roll – The first 2 are my top picks! Truffled egg mayo is the first I’ve tried and and wow, yet another match made in heaven. I also liked how the egg yolk was more runny than hard, binding the whites together. Also, the cone that encased the lobster bits were made with sesame bits, enhancing the flavours of the cone.
Sweet Items: Canale, Prune Lapis, Chocolate Eclair, Lemon Tart, Créme Brûlée Dark Chocolate Tart & Salted Caramel Dark Chocolate Tart – The Landing Point is famous for their Salted Caramel Dark Chocolate Tart – so yes, it is the most amazing and memorable dessert out of all 6. I love how the caramel oozes out from the dark chocolate filling when the tart was halved.
Plain and Raisin Scones – It’s a pity that the scones were not warmed.
I’ll definitely recommend The Landing Point for their high-teas as they are very value for money; since items are refillable, you can basically have a late lunch/early dinner there as high tea starts at 3pm and ends past 5! It will be money well spent for its ambience and service too.
