SkyLoft is situated just above where iFly is at! The entire floorspace on the 5th level is dedicated to the bar and restaurant, overlooking the sea and sunset.
A chic main dining area in front of the bar.
A beautiful and tranquil alfresco setting for a perfect night-out. Behind this area is a sheltered al-fresco space which allows diners to enjoy the scenic view in the event of wet weather.
Nicoise Salad ($16) – A salad of seared tuna, poached egg and baby spinach with balsamic vinegar dressing. The fish was surprisingly fresh and the egg was timed perfectly such that the yolk oozes out to moist the leaves. A healthy starter that is perfectly yummy!
This was not my first choice but unfortunately, they ran out of mussels that day and we settled for Seafood Pizza ($28). I should have known right from the start that good pizzas can only be found in good Italian restaurants. Clearly, pizzas are not their specialty. Whilst the amount of seafood was very generous, the edge of the pizza crust tasted like an over-baked biscuit.
Chocolate Banana Waffles with Ice cream ($12) – Love how the waffles were nicely cut up into strips! Even though I prefer waffles that are more chewy, these were not bad at all! I guess the combination of chocolate, banana and vanilla ice cream could never go wrong!
Dining at the SkyLoft gives you an unobstructed view of fireworks from Song of the Sea which is performed every day, twice a night! In other words, you can catch the first set of fireworks while having dinner in the restaurant and the second one while you’re having drinks at the al-fresco area! This is unquestionably the place to go to on date night and girls’ night out (p.s.: perhaps you can give the pizza a miss). Also, there will be a live band playing through the night during the weekends! Yep, head over there now to unwind! 🙂
