My girls and I decided to celebrate last New Year’s Eve at a nice restaurant and P found this lovely place called Vineyard, located at Hort Park. It feels like one of those restaurants located at Botanical Garden. The restaurant has ground-to-ceiling glass walls with an outdoor patio and lounge with rocking chairs. 🙂
Lots of wood is used in the restaurant. Walls are lined with shelves of wine, together with pretty lighting exude classiness to the whole ambience.
Linguine Vongole – the clams were very fresh and the pasta was al dente. The hint of white wine was adequate and I like how it wasn’t too salty.
Risotto with Asparagus & Mushroom – a must to order this dish! One of the best risottos I’ve tasted. The texture of the rice is perfect and you simply won’t get sick of it.
Crispy Kurobuta Pork Belly with Mash & Salad – similar to Chinese roasted pork; savour the high-quality meat used in this dish. Slices of green apple were found in the salad, which came as a surprise. Love the mash potato too!
Lava Lemon Cake – A MUST-ORDER!!! Love this lemon interpretation of the usual chocolate fondant cakes!!! 😀 Slightly tart which makes this a perfect finale to a heavy meal. The accompanying sesame thin cracker was fabulous as well!
Creme Brulee – mmm not exceptional.
Sticky Date Pudding – I still very much prefer PS Cafe’s.
We paid around $40 each for the meal, very reasonable for a NYE dinner! 🙂 I will come back to try their drinks (think strawberry, honey with soya milk) that weren’t available that day, and of course the risotto I’m so in love with.
Reservations can be made online. Public carpark is readily available.
